- How to apply for a vacancy
Once you've found a role that matches your skills and experience, click the Apply Online button. You’ll be asked to register and set up an account or log into your existing account if you've already created one.
The online application screens are designed to collect the information that is required from you in a clear and structured way. Please ensure that you complete all of the fields. Help will be available to guide you through the form.
You can complete your application in stages and you can login/logout at any time. You will be able to save and edit your application at any point BEFORE submission. Only when you have submitted your completed application will our recruiting managers be able to see it.
The system does allow you to upload your CV. However this should be in addition to – not instead of – completing the online application screens.
The job details and university information are written to provide you with a clear understanding of the role and skills, knowledge and experience you need to fill it. Please use these as the main points of reference when completing the application screens.
In the final section, please write a statement to support your application. Think about any relevant skills and experience you’ve not already referred to. These don’t have to be from current or previous roles; they can be taken from non-work related activities.
The email address you provide in your application should be one you use regularly, because that’s how we’ll keep in touch with you throughout the process.
All online applications must be received by midnight on the closing date. The day after submission, you’ll receive an acknowledgement email.
Once you have submitted your application, you can view it at any time, along with the job details and university information. Just log into your account and visit the 'My Applications' area. You will not be able to amend your application once you have submitted it.
If you do not have access to the internet, telephone the HR Helpdesk on 0121 204 4500, leaving your name, address and a contact number. If you know the reference number for the job you’re interested in, please also leave this in your message. We will send you a paper application form. These must be received before midday on the closing date.
Please note that CVs will only be accepted if accompanied by a completed application form.
Once the selection panel have assessed all applicants, we’ll get in touch, by email, to let you know the outcome.
Please email recruitment@aston.ac.uk if you need further assistance, and the best of luck.
